Hull Takeover Day with Macmillan Cancer Support
Earlier this month (Saturday 11th July 2015) a team of volunteers from Jordans painted the town green in support of the Macmillan Hull Takeover event.
Every year volunteers from Macmillan Cancer Support take to the streets of Hull city centre, green donation buckets in hand, with the aim of collecting as much money as possible for the charity.
This year a group of employees from Jordans kindly decided to join in on the charitable fun, lending a hand collecting donations on behalf of the charity.
To help raise awareness for the charity and its event Jordans had two new Alfa Romeo MiTos branded up with Macmillan stickers and placed at the entrance of St Stephens Shopping Centre to maximise exposure of the Takeover event.
Rebecca Baynes, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan said: “The Jordans team were a fantastic help in collecting during the event and the Macmillan logos on the cars helped increase awareness about our charity. The amount raised will provide over 75 hours of a Macmillan nurse and it will make a huge difference to so many people affected by cancer. Macmillan Cancer Support is 99% funded by donations alone and we could not carry out our work without the thoughtfulness and help of local businesses such as that provided by Jordans Cars.”
Overall, the day was a resounding success, with Macmillan raising a total of £2,081.
